RE: porta potty questions

I didn't want one in our pop up for years, but after renting a motorhome once, decided it was great for those middle of the night gotta-go's. We got a SeaLand one just because that was what Academy Sports had. Love it. I just use a small amount of the blue stuff, any brand will do. There is no smell. Just got it for the night time, so it doesn't have to be emptied that often during a trip. Don't know why I waited so long to get one.

RE: Townsend TN

We haven't stayed in Townsend, but have driven through the KOA in Townsend (formerly Little River Village Campground) and it looks very nice. There aren't too many sites actually on the river but the ones that are, are away from the road. Bathrooms are supposed to be nice also. My wife tried to take a look at them but you have to know the key code.

RE: Ref. 4runner towing 4000 lbs

Glad I read this post. I have a 98 4Runner and had been thinking about buying a hybrid that weighs 3400 lbs empty. It's a 6 cyl. that will pull 5000 lbs. Would I be miserable with this setup, and is a WD hitch out of the question?

RE: So...where did the forum go? Just curious

I could quit rv.net at any time. I just choose not to.
I just lied. I'm hooked.

RE: Trail-Manor

We stayed next to some folks who had a Trailmanor a couple of years ago and they loved it. We watched them set up and it looked like an easy setup. Much quicker than our popup. These folks were going to trade it for a fifth wheel just because they had gotten into camping when they got their Trailmanor and wound up going a lot more than they thought they would (they were retired) and wanted more space.

RE: First motorhome experience; Want to buy, but have questions

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago when we rented a 31' class c from a local dealer. The steering and handling were a nightmare. And to make it worse, we drove a couple thousand miles because our trip was already laid out before we drove the rv from hell. I think that the particular rv we had needed steering parts as well as new shocks. I drove a class c last summer, one similar to what we'd like to own one day, and it handled very well. I was shocked at the difference. It was only a 24' unit and it had the Chevy chassis, as opposed to the Ford chassis we rented. There are many modifications to the chassis that can be done to units that handle poorly, and c owners can be of more help.

RE: Any suggestions for Tenn.

Cumberland Mtn. State Park is a great one. Fall Creek Falls State Park is prettier but harder to get to. FCF is getting a new bathhouse and other electrical upgrades and I'm not sure that is all finished in campground A.

RE: BAL Levelers

I love my BAL leveler. Got mine after using boards in the past for leveling and set up a little out of order and the pup rolled off the boards and headed a few feet right towards my wife. It's as much of a safety issue as convenience.
